Today and the Future
For Activate The Space, designing and providing enabling technologies for the digital signage business—whether for a large-scale outdoor LED display or a flagship retail store—has many parallels to Chris Pelzar and Brad Eisenhaure’s work in the professional audio, post-production, and music industries. Working with artists such as Gloria Estefan, Eddie Van Halen, Puff Daddy, and James Taylor has been replaced by working with today’s leading brands and Integrators. The brands are the rock stars, while producers, directors, and engineers have been replaced by the architects, advertising agencies, construction managers, and brand managers we work with daily. To us, creating an artist’s finished album or film has evolved into creating a flagship store and brand experience for our clients. Activate The Space is a technology company, but at heart, we are a creative company focused on achieving exceptional results throughout the entire process with our highly valued clients. We are a collaborative company that works with other creatives to activate their visions, just as the ATS founders have done for decades.
Activate The Space has been around for 20 years, and we still feel as though we are just getting started. After completing several projects with retailTV, Chris Pelzar left Panasonic in 2005 and formed a consulting and project firm specializing in digital signage design and deployment. Following this success, Chris was hired as a consultant to the Miami Dolphins to negotiate the purchase of approximately 5,000 flat-panel displays for the newly renovated Dolphins Stadium. Working with companies including Panasonic, Sharp, HP, and Dell enabled Chris to further strengthen his relationships with many leading manufacturers in the flat-panel display business. Chris also consulted on several projects for Kaizen Multi Media, including its Oil Lube network and the Car Care Channel, and managed the installation of its test program in 40 oil-change centers across the United States. With additional work from Digital Content Services, RMS Networks, and Mercedes-Benz USA, the time had come to expand the company and add staff to support its continued growth. In late 2006, Chris brought in Brad Eisenhaure as the company’s vice president of creative and opened expanded facilities in Connecticut. By the end of summer 2007, clients including Mercedes-Benz USA, Panasonic, RW Work, The Museum of Television and Radio, The Metropolitan Opera, Macy’s, Victoria’s Secret, Verizon Wireless, and Gymboree had created tremendous opportunities in a very short time, driven by Chris Pelzar’s custom hardware designs and Brad Eisenhaure’s content creation.
